At the 11th convocation ceremony of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Ikenna Henry Ozofor was recognised as the best graduating student and also the valedictorian of the occasion.
Ikenna graduated from the department of Chemical Engineering with a total grade point of 4.85.
According to his speech, he said he never thought he would graduate with a first class even though he knew he was blessed with all it takes to be the best.
He attributed his academic feat to hard work, perseverance and persistence, noting that failure was not an option for him despite offering tough courses.
He said he finished as the best student in secondary school and that gained him scholarship awards from ABC Transport Company, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Chevron Agbami JV, and Allied Energy which saw him through school.
Ikenna revealed that he did not spend long hours reading his books because he didn't have the stamina to rather he consistently maximize the little time he reserved for reading.
Unlike most First Class graduates who normally stay away from social activities while in school, Ikenna is different because he saw social life as part and parcel of education.
He urged the undergraduates to study hard and pray for God’s guidance bearing in mind that theirs no short cut to success.
